Okay, so I skipped yesterday.

Sue me.

Not only did I skip updating, I didn't go to school either. But I was feeling somewhat better, so I helped out around the house, made dinner -

WHAT?! Made DINNER?!?

Yep. Baked pasta, also known as "the-best-recipe-my-mother-ever-made-up-when-she-didn't-feel-like-making-something-complicated". It goes like this: Brown a pound of ground beef. Stick it in a cake pan. Dump a pond of pasta on it. Dump a jar of spaghetti sauce plus half a jar of water on top of that. Put tinfoil over the top of that. Shove it into the oven at 350 degrees for half an hour. Stir it. If it's crunchy, it goes back in with the tinfoil back on top. If it's not, throw out the tinfoil, throw on a pile of your favorite cheese, and stick it back in the oven for a few minutes to melt. Remove, enjoy, eat whole thing and get really sick (okay, you can skip that last part).

Feeds 4-6, depending on how many teenagers you have in the house. We had about a serving left, so we put that in the fridge and I had it for lunch today. YUM!

I also forgot to mention (in my swineflu-delirium) that my cousin Beth is the best ever, for giving me her awesome lemon-honey-tea-stuff. It's exactly what it sounds like: lemon slices and honey in a jar in my fridge, waiting for hot water to turn them into the most soothing non-medicated cold remedy ever. Love ya Beff!

I seem to have gotten over my icky flu, so I probably would have gone to school today - if I'd had it! Inservice day = happy Marg. Spent the day on my DS, wasting time. I was slightly useful in that I did the dishes, so I wasn't a total waste of oxygen.

SAT's tommorow. My calculator batteries are new this month, so they should be okay. I'll see if we have spares I can bring along in my bag. I have a ton of #2 non-mechanical pencils, plus erasers galore. I will bring my cellphone, but it will be turned off in the bottom of my bag until I leave the building. I'm also going to try and memorize the necessary school codes tonight, so as not to waste time tomorrow. I have to be at Central at seven forty-freaking-five in the morning. Kill me now and spare the pain of everyone in a five-mile radius.

Ah well. Wish me luck!

Doing the sick thing

Non-swine flu ahoy! I spent the day as a useless lump on the couch, drinking tea and chicken noodle soup, watching Doctor Who on demand, and being miserable. Last night's aches and miseries turned into a throbbing headache. Luckily, we're well stocked for ibuprofen.

The Brother finally brought home the netbook, so I can get online without moving my head. Ow... ow... ow... (staring at a glowing computer screen probably isn't the best either)

I also spent some time texting with Jimmy, who is wonderful at commiserating - he had this same flu yesterday. Is it sad that we can quote Monty Python and Doctor Horrible for hours on end? I don't think so.

I'll probably go in tomorrow - considering I've only had 1.5 days of class this week, it'd most likely be a good idea.

On the other hand, life has been way too stressful lately. So bleh.

f1r5t p05t!!1! Aka, why blog, Marg?

Yes, I'm completely pathetic. Whatever.

I've been meaning to get a blog for a while now - I'm the kind of person who needs to rant and rave and spew garbage into the ears of anyone who'll listen. What better place for that than online?

The title took much consideration and careful hours of planning. -Okay, that was a lie, I came up with it in about twelve seconds. But it's still meaningful: I plan to go into musical theater, where you have to "shut up and sing" and leave whatever else is in your life behind, the moment you step onto the stage. The "stupid" is because I am a complete idiot and what I post won't always make sense, but this is more for me than you readers, so nyah.

For the two people who read this and DON'T know me IRL, here's an intro: My name is Marge/Margee/any variation thereof, except Maggie. I'm a senior in high school, applying to CMU's drama school. I enjoy long walks on the beach music of almost any genre, devouring fiction by the fistful, and failing at drawing and life in general. I have one mother, one father, one brother, one best friend and one brain cell left (his name is George). This blog will probably die in a week, but I hope I can actually keep something up for once in my life.

To continue: On stage, I wish I was an ingénue, but my mother, director and friends insist I'll be much better as the comic lead. They're right: I'm too tall, too fat and too loud to be a believable romantic lead. Ah well, I can still use the music for auditions, and I can always dream, right?

And now, to business (or, more likely, bitching about my life): I have a flu of the non-swine persuasion, so I'm hoping Dad will let me stay home tomorrow. It's not like anyone's doing much of anything this week, since we have Friday off and we had a super-long field trip today to Ohav Shalom Synagogue (which was very cool).

As for shows I'm in right now, I'm still waiting on a script for Cinderella (as the Fairy Godmother) which may not appear until Monday (!!) if at all (!!!!!). Also, the music director for this one is also doing Titanic, which would be a million times more cool if it didn't open the same week as our show. So schedules will be wonky.

I'm also in Alyssa and Sean's respective One Act Plays, both of which I'm trying to get off book for by the end of this week. In Alyssa's I'm the usual bitchy diva, but in Sean's I'm sort of ingénue-y, which is awesome! I'm engaged to this guy whose mom is basically Mrs. Lovett.

Also trying to work out costume designs for all three shows. Just for my characters, but that's tough enough. I think one of the old fur coats in the closet plus my Confirmation dress will work for Alyssa's, but I probably have to lose about 15 pounds to fit back into it :( . Sean's play is completely up in the air as for costumes right now, but a white blouse and dark skirt/pants always works. The godmother is going to be hardest - the Director doesn't know what she wants yet (unusual for such a micromanager) but Mother dearest went shopping while in Portland for her conference, so we now have fabric with sparkly gold stars to play with. Yay!

Once I work out how to post pictures on here, I'll kick Dad off the desktop and scan some sketches for you to look at, instead of walls of text.

I'm going to try and force myself to post daily or at least weekly, in the hopes of continuing this thing as long as possible. In the meantime, here's my deviantArt account (in case you feel like torturing yourself with my art)
